Jean Slavin MSc (Man Ther) MMACP MCSP MAACP

Jean Slavin Chartered PhysiotherapistJean trained as a chartered physiotherapist at Manchester Royal Infirmary Physiotherapy School and qualified in 1986. She has worked in the NHS in a wide variety of physiotherapy specialities and also in privately run Sports Injuries clinics. Jean specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy in 1989 and became a clinical specialist in spinal conditions in 1998. In addition to her role at St Judes Clinic Jean now works within the NHS as an Extended Scope Practitioner in spinal and lower limb conditions.  (Extended scope practitioners (ESPs) are physiotherapists working at a high level of expertise who have extended their practice and skills in a specialised clinical area.  ESPs have a breadth of clinical experience in a number of areas of medical care and advanced rehabilitation. They will also have up-to-date knowledge of the most clinically effective treatments to manage MSK conditions.) 

Jean studied acupuncture in 2000 and is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP) and she gained accreditation for membership of the Manipulation Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP) in 2003. She also gained a Masters degree in Manipulative Therapy at Coventry University in 2005. Jean has presented research at The National Back Collaborative Conference and also presented at National Back Pain Seminars.

Jean’s clinical interests include spinal conditions, work related injuries, sports injuries and women’s health.
